The modelled bridge was constructed as a group containing six artists The concept and idea of the manufacture of our bridge was actually inspired by the theme of “ALICE IN WONDERLAND”. I then decided that I would take charge of the design of the construction and build. I thought that it would be interesting to use the bamboo sticks in a thorn liked fashion; as if the bridge was an actual cave of bamboo sticks. This made the bridge stand out from the norm and give the impression of a forest. I rather enjoyed this task as it allowed us as a group to share each other’s ideas and understand what it is like to work as a team, like if we were to work in this industry of architecture.

3D DESIGN - making alice's bridge

visit to the TATE MODERN
The visit to the Tate modern was an experience of art like
no other; I enjoyed taking in the new intentional ideas that new and contemporary
artists had to offer. Although I was given six artists to look at and analyse
their work, I just couldn’t resist the temptation of exploring the rest of the
Tate. I also found it somewhat amusing
to revert back to artist that I have previously worked from as I can some how
understand and enjoy the presence of their work in my sight.

my personal review of the PIKES by Annette Messager
THE PIKES
ANNETTE MESSAGER
The work consists of subversive materials
from the eroded steel rods to the inter-winded fabrics of the deformed dolls.
My initial response to this construction of a display brought to my attention
the impression of a voodoo styled scene in which it expresses the differences
between the relation of male and female as well as the potential outcomes of
child’s play. The use of colour pencil to the miniature drawings of the
historic events has allowed the concept of child’s play to be involved and is
harmonized cleverly into the piece of work. These drawings are collectively
viewed in thin white paper frames which have also been, in other terms
“scribbled” onto, also giving the impression of an under aged approach to the
collection of work. The reason for displaying the various items on rusty old
steels rods, was to symbolize the idea of historic ways of displaying certain
items of which would have been beheaded people and goats. Therefore I get the
impression that Messager has used this as a method of displaying work, however
has actually used it as her work. Using this information I found it difficult
to appreciate the display of work in such a cramped and small environment. I think
that the Tate would have received a much clearer response to Messager’s work
from the public if itwere placed in a more open and public space. Therefore I found
it much more difficult to understand the idea that Messager was trying to carry
across as it was not accurately stated in the blog.

photo shoot of final piece for fashion week
As part of this weeks task we had to produce as many ideas as possible using a variety of methods, of which were:
- collect as many full length model photos, either from magazines or online
- using the tear outs of the models, we then used different structures and materials to collage on top of the photos to come up with quick three dimensional ideas
- we then had roughly 20 minutes to produce as many drawings of a wide range of ideas that we were then going to produce large scaled prototypes
- once the prototypes were complete, we then had to either; use a real person or use a mannequin
I then decided to use photo shop to develop from the original images to give more professional approach to my work, these are shown below:
MAGNOLIA TONAL CONTRAST
This effect to the image has highlighted key tones and facial areas, overall giving the image a much intense and natural contrast of tone. although the whole point of this task was to make the neck brace the "SUBJECT' i have gone against that and have focused on making the image look more professional, overall giving everything about this photo more of an attraction to the public domain.

Today's work on presenting memories
As part of today's task was to demonstrate your own personal way of expressing your memories through art. I decided to present my ideas in many different ways, this way I was able to use my fellow peers to give me constructive criticism of which was best?, which could be improved? And which areas showed strength and great significance?
The first page just shows the idea of layering, a game design and the connections of buildings. These are all possible ways of showing memories.
Here is a quick model of how the board would look like. Each number represents a person, the coloured lined signalises the route of that particular person and where in time they have made contact with another person (player).
Pages 2 and 3: ( more ideas of ways storing memories)
Pages 4 and 5:
I liked the idea of an architectural way of showing memories in time however replaced by different rooms for different points in time.
This idea received most attention and peers felt that this would be the most interesting way of storing memories. This idea came to mind when I thought one of my most favoured food and thus led to the idea of using each layer of food as a past memory.
